More than 1000 people throughout the day attended our Clued up Brighton community event that took place on Brighton seafront on the 1st of August to raise awareness of the impact that drugs and alcohol can have on peoples’ lives.
Anna commented;
The event was a fun day out for young people and teenagers, they came and enjoyed live bands on the stage, comedians, stilt walkers, jugglers, and other acts from Brighton & Hove. At the same time they watched a selection of videos from local people sharing their personal stories. Local charities and support groups such as CRI were present too, providing information about their services. We also distributed among our visitors FRANK booklets during the event to reinforce the awareness of all the free services available to support our community, this was very much a community event by local people for local people.
Awareness is the everyday motto for clued up Brighton that aims to informed people to make the right choice…. The only wrong choice is a misinformed choice –
Get Clued Up
The event was the brainchild of Anna Bryman who has managed to put together a passionate and enthusiastic team to make it all happen and has been made possible with the support of our sponsors.
Anna's goal is to continue with the awareness events and maybe roll out to other communities across the UK.
